Plymouth, Mich. — Plymouth Downtown Development Authority reviewed its five-year action plan at a public informational meeting Monday, Oct. 12, at 6:30 p.m. in City Hall Commission Chambers, with a regular board meeting to follow at 7 p.m.

The update covers more than a dozen active downtown projects. Staff is preparing Michigan Department of Transportation materials for historical scoping ahead of streetscape grant applications, and the board is set to consider hiring a professional grant writer. Engineering recommendations for a SET 2 project and Harvey Street resurfacing between Penniman and Church are expected in November.

City and DDA staff are developing 2027 upgrades for the north side of the parking deck, including new pavement, a bike rack area and lower-walkway improvements from the deck to Main Street. The city has also submitted a grant request that could fund design work on downtown flooding concerns. Downtown Plymouth DDA materials note DTP Forward construction work is expected to begin in 2027.

Kellogg Park is Plymouth iconic downtown gathering space at Main Street and Ann Arbor Trail. The DDA directed staff to consult turf experts on Kellogg Park conditions, while holiday decor for the Main Street median is expected to go up in early November. Outdoor dining season ends Oct. 31.

The DDA office is listed at 831 Penniman in Plymouth. Staff is coordinating with the Chamber of Commerce on Pumpkin Palooza logistics and continuing a Salvation Army Red Kettle Kick Off partnership as Santa Parade planning continues for a later start time than in prior years.
