BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Northville High School girls golf left Bedford Valley in Battle Creek with the Lower Peninsula Division 1 team championship on Saturday, Oct. 17, making it three state titles in a row for the Mustangs.

Northville posted a 312 in the opening round and a 319 in the second for a 631 total, beating runner-up Macomb Dakota by 18 strokes. Dakota came in at 649, Portage Central took third at 666, Okemos placed fourth at 672 and Rochester Adams was fifth at 675.

The Mustangs won it with depth rather than one standout scorer. Three Mustangs shared 11th place on the individual leaderboard, each finishing two days at 156, and the lineup includes just one senior.

Individual honors went to Portage Central, whose top golfer opened with a 5-under 67 and followed with a 74 for a 141 total, 3 under par. Players from Okemos and Troy tied for second at 148, seven shots back.

The same Northville trio also finished side by side near the top of the standings in 2024, the season the program won the first of its three straight Division 1 crowns.

State finals in all four girls golf divisions were settled the same Saturday across Michigan, with several Metro Detroit schools in contention.
