FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. — Northville’s boys soccer team is one win from a district championship after beating Walled Lake Western 1-0 in a Monday night semifinal in Farmington Hills.

The Mustangs and Warriors met in a Division 1 semifinal on Oct. 19 in District 7, the bracket hosted by North Farmington. Western earned its place in the semifinal by winning its first-round game on Oct. 14 at North Farmington, while Northville opened its postseason in the semifinal round.

Next up is the district final, set for 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21. Northville will face the survivor of the other half of the bracket, where the first round paired Southfield A&T at Livonia Stevenson and Farmington at Novi.

A district title would come with a short trip home. The District 7 champion moves on to Regional 2, which Northville is hosting.
