Northville Township Man Charged with Kidnapping and Multiple Sex Crimes Against 14-Year-Old Girl

A 22-year-old man from Northville Township has been charged following an alleged incident involving a 14-year-old girl. Charles Willis is accused of luring the girl to his home using the social media platform Snapchat. According to police reports, the girl traveled approximately two hours to reach Willis’s residence after he arranged and paid for an Uber share ride.

The event took place on April 25, 2025, when Willis contacted the girl and persuaded her to come to his home. Upon her arrival, witnesses claim she was instructed to remain in the basement. The situation escalated until April 27, when the girl was found walking alone in the area of Seven Mile and Sheldon roads, prompting immediate police intervention.

Following the girl’s discovery, authorities executed a search warrant at Willis’s home on the same day and took him into custody. He has been charged with multiple felonies, including kidnapping, enticing a girl under 16 for immoral purposes, child sexually abusive activity, and first-degree criminal sexual conduct. A judge has set his bond at $1 million, and he is currently being held at the Wayne County Jail.

Possible Penalties

Prosecutors have indicated that if Willis is convicted, he may face severe consequences, including life in prison for the kidnapping charges and potentially life sentences for each count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. Other sentences will apply for the other outstanding charges, though specifics on those penalties have yet to be determined.

Prior Criminal History

Investigators have disclosed that Willis has previously been in contact with law enforcement regarding inappropriate sexual behavior, specifically relating to attempting to entice young girls. Authorities are concerned that there may be additional victims as a result of his actions and have urged anyone who believes they or their child may have interacted with Willis to contact the Northville Township Police Detective Bureau at (248) 349-9400.

Current Status of the Case

The investigation into the case remains ongoing, with authorities continuing to gather evidence and information. Charles Willis was arraigned in the 35th District Court, where he was formally charged with the aforementioned counts. A hearing has been scheduled for May 9, where further proceedings will take place.

As investigations continue, community members are advised to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to local authorities. Police and prosecutors emphasize the importance of ensuring the safety of children, urging the public to come forward if they have any relevant information pertaining to this case or similar incidents.
