The Northville Parks and Recreation Department manages the parks and facilities in the city. This includes neighborhood and community parks with amenities like soccer fields, baseball/softball fields, lacrosse fields, playgrounds, tennis courts, picnic pavilions, dog parks and multi-modal trails/pathways, as well as two unique parks with historic houses and structures: Mill Race Village and Thayer’s Corner.
The department also oversees two indoor facilities: the Northville Community Center and the Recreation Center at Hillside, which have basketball, volleyball, pickleball and badminton courts, mini-gyms, meeting/activity rooms, and a banquet room. The Parks and Recreation Department is a shared program between the City of Northville and Northville Township, with the Township responsible for 84% of the funding and the City responsible for 16%.
