South Lyon Prepares for a Festive Holiday Spectacular with Tree Lighting Ceremony and Grand Parade

South Lyon Gears Up for Annual Holiday Spectacular!

Get ready, South Lyon! Tomorrow marks the much-anticipated Old-Fashioned Christmas Tree Lighting, hosted by the Carl and Joanne Foundation, as part of the delightful Holiday Spectacular. It’s a day packed with festive fun and activities for everyone in the family!

A Day Full of Festivities

The festivities kick off bright and early at 10 a.m. with a fabulous winter farmers’ market, where you can find fresh produce and seasonal goodies. But that’s just the beginning! There are crafts, games, and even tours of the Historic Village lined up throughout the day. Performers will also be scattered around downtown, adding to the lively atmosphere.

Special Visits from Santa!

Now, let’s talk about the highlights! Make sure to swing by 228 S. Lafayette St. between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to catch a glimpse of Santa Claus himself. He’ll be hanging out, ready to take photos and hear what the kiddos want for Christmas! Afterward, he’ll make a special trip to the Witch’s Hat Depot to meet with Mayor Steve Kennedy – not your typical meet-and-greet, as he aims to snag a key to the city!

If you miss him during the afternoon, don’t worry! Santa and Mrs. Claus will be making another appearance later at the Washburn School starting at 7 p.m., so be sure to stop by!

The Grand Parade!

The grand Holiday Spectacular Parade will weave its way through downtown, commencing at 6 p.m. from Bartlett Elementary School. Gather your friends and family to watch as colorful floats and festive characters march by, bringing holiday cheer to all ages. The parade will conclude with a special moment as Santa lights the tree in the Historic Village, a beautiful sight you won’t want to miss!

The Tree Lighting Ceremony

The highlight of the evening, the Old-Fashioned Christmas Tree Lighting, hosted by the Carl and Joanne Foundation, is set for 7:30 p.m. right outside Heinanen Electrical. Join your neighbors under the sparkle of the lights for this heartwarming ceremony.

Evening Entertainment!

Looking for a little more adult fun? Head back to 228 S. Lafayette St. after 6 p.m. for live music, drinks, and good company. The band Rock Mob is set to take the stage at 6 p.m. and will surely get everyone on their feet!

Just a heads up, starting from 6 p.m., there will be a $10 cover charge, and this portion of the event is for those who are 21 years and older only. The charming “beverage barn” will be operating from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., without the need for wristbands until the evening hits. Drink tickets will be available for $5 each, which you can purchase on-site.

Wrap-Up and More Information

The entire jubilant celebration wraps up at 11 p.m., but there’s still time to enjoy the season’s spirit with your loved ones. For a full list of events and their specific locations, check the local holiday banner or keep an eye on the South Lyon Holiday Spectacular Facebook Page!
