NORTHVILLE, Mich. — Northville football will open the state playoffs at home after the Michigan High School Athletic Association released its brackets Sunday, Oct. 25, setting up a Division 1 district semifinal against Brownstown Woodhaven.
Both teams finished the regular season 7-2. The Mustangs earned the home date with the better playoff-point average, 74.000 to Woodhaven’s 66.000, since the higher-ranked team hosts in the opening rounds no matter how far apart the schools sit.
The game belongs to Region 3, District 2. The other half of that district sends Dearborn, 5-4, to unbeaten Saline, so the Northville-Woodhaven winner meets one of those two in the district final during the weekend of Nov. 6-7.
Opening-round games are set for Oct. 30 and 31, with the home school picking the exact day and kickoff. Northville High School sits at 45700 Six Mile Road.
Admission to district semifinal games is $8. The Division 1 state final is scheduled for Ford Field in Detroit on Thanksgiving weekend.
