CANTON, Mich. — Northville girls volleyball begins its state tournament run Wednesday with a 5 p.m. semifinal in MHSAA Division 1 District 20, hosted at Canton High School.
The Mustangs drew a bye through Monday, when the district opened. Plymouth and Canton met in that first-round match at 5 p.m., and its winner advanced to face Northville in the early semifinal.
That opener was a Division 1 District 20 first-round game, and Canton High School is hosting every round of the district this week.
The late semifinal follows at 7 p.m., matching Salem against the winner of a Monday match between Livonia Churchill and Westland John Glenn.
The two semifinal winners meet for the district title at 6 p.m. Friday. The champion moves on to Regional 5, which will be played at Northville, giving the Mustangs a chance to keep their season going on their home floor.
