Straight from the hardcourt to the kitchen, NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal is bringing his fried chicken goodness to Livonia, Metro Detroit. Yep, you read it right! Shaq is co-hosting the opening of a new chicken restaurant, pleasing foodies and basketball fans alike.
The exciting new restaurant, dubbed as Big Chicken, will be gracing the location at 30130 Plymouth Road come October. Guess what? This isn’t just about fried chicken; it has more to offer!
Big Chicken won patrons over with its signature fried chicken sandwiches, add-on sides, and yummy shakes. The menu boasts tasty options such as the “Shaq Attack“, a tempting combo of fried chicken, pepper jack cheese, jalapeño slaw, and spicy chipotle BBQ sauce.
Then there’s “The Ultimate“, a burst of flavors with fried chicken, mac and cheese, crispy fried onions, and roasted garlic BBQ aioli. Now, if that doesn’t make you want to rush over as soon as it opens, we don’t know what will!
The spot might sound familiar for some as it once housed Celebrity Chef Guy Fieri’s Chicken Guy. Unfortunately, it closed doors earlier this summer after just a year of operation. But hey, one celeb’s loss is another celeb’s gain, right?
The forthcoming Livonia restaurant is only the beginning of Big Chicken’s epic journey. They plan to open roughly 20 more stores across Michigan. So, even if you aren’t in Metro Detroit, you might just find a Big Chicken coming to a town near you!
