SALINE, Mich. — Northville plays for a district football championship on Friday, Nov. 6, when the Mustangs visit unbeaten Saline in the Division 1 playoffs. Kickoff at Hornet Stadium, 1300 Campus Parkway, is set for 7 p.m.
The Mustangs bring an 8-2 record into the matchup. Saline stands at 10-0 after a first-round playoff win over Dearborn last Friday, a game the Hornets had well in hand by halftime with a 21-0 lead.
Running the ball is where Saline does most of its damage. Carson Cherry carried 19 times for 173 yards and a score against Dearborn, good for 9.1 yards per attempt. Quarterback Case Campbell found Brady Baldwin for two touchdown passes in the second quarter, and the Saline defense struck first when a forced fumble was scooped up and returned for a touchdown.
A district title is on the line for the winner, which keeps going in the MHSAA bracket. The host school is promoting the night as a full Friday event, with its band, dance team and cheerleaders set to perform along with the game.
