SALINE, Mich. — Northville handed host Saline its first loss of the season Friday night, winning 17-14 at Hornet Stadium to take a Division 1 district final.
The Mustangs came in as the road team against a 10-0 Saline group playing at home at 1300 Campus Parkway, and they left with the three-point win and a 9-2 record on the season.
Next up is an even bigger test. Northville travels to Detroit on Friday, November 13 to meet Cass Tech, which carries an 11-0 record into the matchup.
The Technicians reached that game with a 27-14 victory over Dearborn Fordson in their most recent outing, so the Mustangs will again be facing an opponent with no losses.
For Northville, the district title extends a season that has now produced nine wins and keeps the program alive in the state tournament for another week.
